What the Eminence in Shadow RPG is
The Eminence in Shadow RPG is an online fantasy role-playing game built around the anime The Eminence in Shadow. It is free to play, and the in-app items are optional purchases. The listing presents it mainly to fans of the anime and the light novels, though it also lists a story that is meant to stand on its own for people who have not seen the show.
The game follows the Seven Shadows and Master of Garden, a story that the listing says covers scenes from the anime along with events the light novels never showed. Its 3D graphics and anime cutscenes are the main way the story is told.
Story modes and the Seven Shadows Chronicles
The story mode adds new chapters and challenges after each new episode of the anime, and new characters arrive on the same schedule. The Seven Shadows Chronicles and the game's event stories are supervised by Daisuke Aizawa, who wrote the original light novels. The listing says these stories cover what the Seven Shadows were doing during their two years away from Shadow, a stretch the anime does not show.
The listing describes Master of Garden's story as built around characters and moments drawn from the anime, so the cutscenes and battles are tied to the show's scenes.
Battles, party building and Strike Combos
Battles happen in 3D with anime-style visuals. You build a party from any character in the anime, and you can team up Rose, Alexia and Beta for combined moves, including a sister power that Rose and Alexia share. Certain matches trigger special battle animations that the listing says cannot be seen anywhere else, and players can share their favorite secret moves on social media.
The combat system uses a Combo gauge. When you fill it, you unleash Strike Combos, and the combos depend on the order your party acts in. The listing says this allows a large number of possible character orders, so the choice of move changes with how you arrange the party.
Daily chats with the heroines on the Home Screen
The Home Screen lets you talk to your favorite heroine one-on-one every day. The listing says these conversations deepen your bond with her and reveal a different side of her over time.
The chats are a daily check-in rather than a battle mode, so they sit alongside the story and combat.
Voice cast, music and in-app purchases
The game lists its voice cast by character, including Seiichiro Yamashita as Cid / Shadow, Kana Hanazawa as Alexia Midgar and Inori Minase as Beta. The opening theme is "HIGHEST", and the music is credited to Basiscape Co., Ltd.
The game is free to play, and in-app items can be bought for real money. The listing names no other purchase model.
