What The Factory is and who it suits

The Factory mixes three genres: a crafting simulator, a resource manager and a clicker. The goal is to build a factory that keeps running without you running out of money.

It suits people who like clicker games and slow economic planning. Each step is a small decision about what to buy, what to make and what to sell next.

Buying materials, crafting goods and selling for profit

You begin by purchasing raw materials. Those materials go into basic items, which you sell for more than they cost to make.

The profit from early sales pays for the next stage. Over time you move up the crafting chain toward more complex items, and each tier needs more inputs and more planning than the last.

Automating production with Builders

The top tier of items are called Builders. Once you have them, they manufacture items for you, so output continues without you clicking through each step.

The Builder Builder sits above them and produces more Builders. The listing presents this as the way to scale a factory beyond what you can make by hand.

Optional purchases, and what happens when money runs out
