Get fearless, independent journalism from the United States and the world with the Guardian app.

The Guardian app is the phone reader for Guardian News & Media's journalism, covering US and world news, politics, business and sport. It suits someone who wants to read, watch and listen to the Guardian's reporting in one place, and it adds a podcast tab and a set of games beside the articles. The listing describes the download as free.
Opinion pieces and live blogs sit alongside the news reporting, so the same app handles breaking stories and longer commentary.
The build we hold is The Guardian - US & World News 6.239.23439 (APKS split bundle) for Android 10 and up.

Live blogs carry a story as it develops, with updates posted minute by minute. The listing offers them across world news, politics, business and sport. A redesigned My Guardian tab lets you follow the topics you choose, so the stories that matter to you are gathered in one tab rather than found by searching each time.
Podcasts have a dedicated tab, and the in-app audio player plays them without leaving the app. Any article can also be read aloud through a text-to-speech feature, which the listing describes as new and enhanced. That lets you hear an article rather than read it.
The Guardian puzzles hub collects the games the listing calls most popular: On the ball, Film reveal, Word wheel, Wordiply and Sudoku. They sit together in one hub inside the app.
Readers get a limited number of articles, and that allowance refreshes on a regular basis. A subscription removes the limit, gives unlimited reading with no subscription messages, and removes ads. It also adds offline reading, so articles can be downloaded to read on the go. The listing says the subscription auto-renews and is charged before each renewal date unless it is cancelled.
