The President: 20th Century 2 is a strategy game set on a world map, where you take charge of one of more than 70 countries. The aim is to grow your country into a major power through its economy, its military and its dealings with other states.

It suits players who like long-running geopolitical games with many moving parts. Wars, separatist movements and plunder come with the territory, so the game asks you to balance expansion against keeping your own country together.

Oil, iron and trade for the economy

Your economy runs on natural resources. You drill for oil, mine iron and lead, and extract other materials such as aluminum, then use them to strengthen your national output.

You can also build mining sites to expand production and trade these resources through trade agreements with other nations. Colonizing new territories adds more land to work with.

Army, navy and defending your borders
