TicketSwap: resell and buy concert and festival tickets

By Irfan Rosli

News editor

Resale tickets for concerts, festivals, clubs and theatre
Seller and buyer checks, with price caps on resold tickets
SecureSwap tickets re-issued in the buyer's name
Ticket alerts and an auto buy option for sold-out shows
Transfer tickets from other providers, then resell them

What the marketplace covers and who it suits

TicketSwap is a marketplace where people buy and resell tickets for concerts, festivals, gigs, club nights, theatre and sports events. The listing describes it as a place for fans to get into shows that have sold out, and as a place to sell tickets they no longer want.

Buyers and sellers are both verified, and the listing says tickets are checked before they can be listed for sale. Price caps are applied to resold tickets.

Finding tickets and catching sold-out shows

You can search by artist, venue or city, or browse by genre. The app also lists nearby and last-minute events, and you can save events or follow artists so their shows stay in view.

For a sold-out event, a ticket alert sends a notification when a ticket becomes available. The auto buy option will purchase a ticket for you when one appears, so you do not have to watch the listing yourself.

Listing and selling a ticket you already hold

To sell, you upload the ticket file, pick the tickets you want to sell and set your price. You are notified when a ticket sells and paid after the sale.

Tickets bought from another provider can be transferred into the app and then sold like any other ticket, as the listing describes.

Ticket delivery, offline access and the SecureSwap system

For events that use SecureSwap, the ticket is re-issued in the buyer's name. The listing says it cannot be resold or duplicated, and that it is ready to scan at the door.

Tickets can be opened offline in the app, and the listing says some are backed by official organizers.
