What Time Clock tracks and who it is for

Time Clock is a work hours tracker for people who are paid by the hour and need a record of when they worked. It works for someone with a single job as well as someone who holds several jobs and wants each one logged separately.

The main job is turning hours into a sheet you can hand to an employer, a client or an accountant. Everything else in the app supports that.

Logging hours with a clock or manual time cards

You clock in when a shift starts and clock out when it ends, and the app records the time against the job you are working. Where you would rather not run a live timer, you can add a time card yourself and enter the hours after the fact.

The two methods feed the same records, so a week can mix clocked shifts and hand-entered cards. Each job keeps its own entries when you track more than one.

Earnings estimates and weekly or monthly reports

While you track time, the app shows an estimate of what you have earned so far, updated as the hours add up. The figure is an estimate built from the hours and the rate you have entered, not a payroll amount.

Once entries exist, you can open weekly and monthly reports that summarise the hours for each period. The reports are the quickest way to check a total before a pay period closes.

Exporting timesheets as XLSX and sharing them

The app builds timesheets in XLSX format, the spreadsheet format used by Excel and most other spreadsheet programs. You can create one from your recorded time and send it on, which is the step that replaces filling in a paper timesheet.

Because the output is a standard spreadsheet, it can be opened, edited or totalled in any program that reads XLSX files.

Cloud sync and backups of time records

The app offers cloud synchronisation, which keeps a copy of your time records off the phone. If the device is lost or reset, the stored records are the ones that can be restored.
