Tubantia – Nieuws en Regio

What the Tubantia news app covers

Tubantia: Nieuws en Regio is the news app from Tubantia, which the listing says is published by DPG Media B.V. It combines national and international news with reports from the places a reader chooses. The developer says it delivers news around the clock.

The listing sets out seven main sections: Home, Regio, Video, Puzzel, Podcast, Show and Sport. Home carries general and trending news from the Netherlands and abroad. Regio is built around the villages, towns and regions a reader follows.

The developer also points to an app menu with further content. The listing does not say what that menu contains beyond the features it names elsewhere.

Following national and regional news by place

Regio lets a reader pick from a fixed list of places. The options are Enschede e.o., Hengelo e.o., Almelo e.o., Oldenzaal e.o., Reggestreek, Achterhoek, Zwolle, Deventer and Apeldoorn. The "e.o." entries mean "and surrounding areas", so the four Twente options cover each town plus the places around it.

Show gives entertainment news, and Home covers the wider national and international picture. A reader who wants only local coverage can rely on Regio, while Home is for the broader headlines.

Sport brings the main sports news together in a single overview. The listing presents this as the place to see the most important stories without moving between sections.

Video, podcasts and puzzles

Video holds news videos and several series. Podcast gives access to Tubantia's podcasts through an integrated podcast player, so listening takes place inside the app.

Puzzel is the games section. The developer lists hundreds of free puzzles, games and quizzes, making it the part of the app that is not news.

Football fixtures, weather and saved articles

The voetbalcenter, which the listing presents as a football hub for fans, shows the match programme, match results and current league standings in one place.

The weather feature covers the reader's area and runs up to 14 days ahead. A reading list lets a reader save articles and return to them later.

A dark mode is included for reading articles, which the listing says lets people read without the bright light of the screen.

Premium articles and logging in with DPG Media

Premium articles are marked with a Premium label, and the developer says these are its best pieces. Subscribers of Tubantia sign in with a DPG Media account to get unlimited access to all Premium articles in the app.

Readers without a subscription can log in and read up to three free Premium articles per month, according to the listing. The developer gives a support email address for questions and suggestions about the app.
