Uber - Request a ride

What Uber is for

Uber is a ride-hailing app for getting around town, running errands, or arriving in a new city. The listing frames it around airport travel and everyday trips alike. You enter where you want to go and choose from several car types, from a standard car up to a luxury car with a professional driver.

Choosing a car by group size and comfort

UberX is the base option, described as affordable and a car to yourself. UberXL takes groups of up to 6 people. Comfort adds newer cars with extra legroom, and UberX Priority is listed for priority pickup.

For a higher level of service, Black offers luxury rides with professional drivers, and Premier offers luxury rides with highly-rated drivers. Uber Pet is for riders travelling with a pet.

Electric and zero-emission rides

The Electric option is listed as eco-friendly. Comfort Electric is the premium version, with zero-emission cars and the same comfort tier as Comfort.

Taxis and scooters in the same app

In select cities, you can request a cab or taxi through the app alongside rideshare cars. The 2-wheels option lets you find a scooter and start riding right away.

Seeing the fare before you book

When you enter a destination, the app shows upfront pricing and an estimated time of arrival before you commit to the ride. The developer says this is meant to remove hidden costs and surprises at the end of the trip.
