What the app does and who it suits

Remote Control for TV - All TV runs on your phone and works as a universal remote for televisions. The developer aims it at people who keep losing their remote, have batteries die on them, or own several similar remotes and can't tell which one goes with which set.

It is built around Smart TVs. The listing names Samsung, LG, Sony, Roku, Fire TV, Android TV and Vizio and Hisense, with other brands listed as well. The app is categorised under Tools and is published by Taka Group - Maxlabs Smart Tools.

Setting up the phone to control a TV

Setup means putting the phone and the TV on the same Wi-Fi network, then choosing your TV's brand in the app. After that the app is ready to send commands to the set.

The brand step is what lets the app match its controls to the TV in front of you. Once it is done, you open the app and use the controls directly, with no pairing screens to work through beforehand.

Volume, channels and input sources

The core controls on the screen cover volume, switching channels and selecting an input source such as an HDMI port. The developer says these tasks are meant to take only a few taps each.

Because the controls live on the phone, you can use them from anywhere in the room without looking for the physical remote, which is the situation the app is built to replace.
