What the VELUX ACTIVE system is for

VELUX ACTIVE with NETATMO is a home system for VELUX electric roof windows, blinds and shutters. It runs the windows automatically based on the air inside the house, and you can also control it yourself from a phone or by voice. The stated aim is a healthier indoor climate and more comfort.

It suits people who already have motorised VELUX INTEGRA roof windows, or who are thinking about fitting them. Owners of older manual roof windows can add a motor and bring them into the same system. Anyone who wants the house to ventilate itself without them having to think about it is the main target.

Automatic ventilation from sensor readings

Smart sensors measure temperature, humidity and air quality. Based on those readings, the system opens or closes the roof windows, blinds and shutters without you doing anything. The listing says this keeps indoor air healthier and saves energy.

When automatic regulation is running, the app sends you an alert on your smartphone. That tells you the house is adjusting itself, so a window moving on its own does not come as a surprise.

Checking and controlling the house remotely

The app shows the key indoor climate figures for temperature, humidity and air quality, so you can see the state of the house from wherever you are. You can open or close VELUX INTEGRA roof windows, blinds and shutters from the app at any time.

Voice control covers the same windows, blinds and shutters. The listing does not name the voice assistants it works with, so check what it supports before relying on a particular one.

Leaving the house with the departure remote

The wireless departure remote sits by the front door. Pressing it runs a preset departure sequence: all the smart roof windows close, and the secured ventilation mode switches on. The listing says the same departure scene can also be started from the app, so you do not need the remote in your hand.

The departure switch is a separate unit, so you can place extra switches around the house if you buy them. Each one can trigger the same scene.
