What Vita Sort is and who it is for

Vita Sort is a Mahjong tile sorting puzzle from Vita Studio. The tiles keep the look of a classic Mahjong set, but the game is about collecting and categorizing them rather than building a traditional hand.

The developer describes it as a relaxed but mentally engaging puzzle for all players, with a particular focus on older adults. The tiles are large and clear, and the layout is set up for phone screens.

Collecting and auto-sorting tiles in the tray

Tapping any available tile on the board moves it into a temporary tray at the bottom of the screen. Nothing is sorted at that point.

When a tile lands in the tray and its category already has a slot at the top, every matching tile in the tray is categorized automatically and counts toward that slot. The player's job is to decide which tiles to tap and in what order.

Tracking category progress in the slots

The top of the screen has three main category slots. Each one shows an active Mahjong category and how far along the collection is, for example Characters 2/4.

Because only three categories are active at once, the board and the tray stay focused on a small set of tile types at any moment.
