The app listing, the version table and the download step are laid out by this site’s stylesheet. With stylesheets switched off, or blocked before they arrive, none of that layout exists, so the page is not shown.

What the launcher changes on your home screen

Volume Control Home is an Android launcher. It takes the place of your default home screen, and the listing says the setup asks you to choose it as your default home app. Its main purpose is sound control, with a home screen built around that and a few everyday shortcuts added.

The listing presents it for people who want quick control over volume from the moment the phone is unlocked, without going into system settings. Its other home screen features are secondary to that purpose.

Raising volume past 100 percent and setting each stream

The app can push media volume above 100%, which the listing describes as going past the normal system limit. The stated use is extra loudness for music, videos and calls.

Each sound type has its own control: ringtone, alarm, media, notifications and system. A change to one does not move the others. The developer lists these as independent streams, so a loud media level can sit alongside a quiet ringtone.

Adjusting volume with the dial and home screen widget

The main control is a volume dial, which the listing says is designed for quick adjustments. A Volume widget can be added to the home screen, so the level can be changed there without opening the app.

Together these let you change sound from the home screen itself. The widget is the one-tap route the listing describes.

Search, news feed and shortcuts on the home screen

A web search bar is built into the home screen, so searches can start without opening a browser first. Swiping right opens a personalized feed of news and other content, according to the listing.

The home screen also gives quick access to weather, wallpapers, notes and games. These sit alongside the volume controls rather than replacing them.
