What the Watsons ID shopping app covers

Watsons ID is the mobile app for Watsons Indonesia, the health and beauty retailer. The developer describes it as a redesign of the earlier in-app shopping experience, aimed at making browsing deals and buying products quicker.

It suits people who already shop at Watsons and want their deals, card and vouchers in one place on their phone. Most of its listed features are about makeup and skincare shopping, plus the store membership card.

Trying on makeup and skincare by shade

The app has a virtual try-on feature for makeup and skincare, based on colour shades. The listing names three tools for it: ColourMe, Foundation Finder and Skinfie.

A shopper can use these to test how a product might match their own shade before buying it. The listing presents this as a way to shop for a product without needing to visit a store to test it.

Virtual member card and store points

Watsons no longer issues a physical member card, according to the listing. The Watsons ID app replaces it with a virtual card that you open at the counter when shopping in a Watsons store.

Showing the card lets you collect points on purchases and unlock discounts that are only open to members. The listing does not describe how the card is set up or how points are redeemed.

Deals, promotions and app-only vouchers

The app lists exclusive online vouchers that are available only through it. The listing says the developer's promotions are on the app, so checking it is the way to see them.

Deals and promotions can be browsed at any time, 24/7, from a phone rather than a store visit. The listing does not give details of voucher terms or expiry dates.
