Wavelength

What Wavelength is and who plays it

Wavelength is a digital version of the party board game of the same name. A team has to agree on where a clue sits on a spectrum, such as hot and cold, and place the dial there. The points come from how close the team gets to the hidden target, so the game rewards guessing what the other players are thinking.

It is built for groups of friends or family, from 2 up to 10 or more players. It is free to play and has no ads, and the listing says you can play as much as you like.

Playing in one room or online across devices

The game can be played in person around one screen or remotely with people in other places. Android and iOS players can join the same game, so a mixed group does not need matching phones.

Dial movements update live for everyone at the same time, so each player sees the team's placement as it changes. Emoji reactions let players respond during a round without speaking over each other.

Prompts and spectrums beyond the box

The app includes a large prompt library, with 390 prompts that do not appear in the physical game. The developer also lists hundreds of spectrums made specifically for the app.

New themed packs arrive from time to time, which adds more prompts to the existing library without buying a new box.

Avatars for each player

Each player picks an avatar that can be customized. The listing gives over four million possible combinations, so players at the same table are unlikely to look alike.
