Each transfer is priced at the mid-market exchange rate, according to the listing. The developer says over 65% of transfers arrive in under 20 seconds, though it notes that speed depends on individual circumstances and is not available for every transaction.
Transfers are protected by two-factor authentication, encryption and biometric login.
The Multi-Currency Card works for purchases and cash withdrawals in more than 160 countries. If you have no balance in the local currency, the app converts from what you hold, which the listing says is done at the lowest possible price.
You can freeze and unfreeze the card at any time, and update its digital card details inside the app.
The app issues a UK account number and sort code, a European IBAN, Australian account details and others, so payers in those countries can send money as if to a local bank. The listing says these details can receive payments in several currencies, and can be used for direct debits.
Each transaction triggers an instant push notification.
You can hold 40 currencies in one balance and convert between them instantly at the mid-market rate. The listing says there is no monthly fee and no maintenance fee to keep money in the account in most cases. You can set currencies to convert automatically at chosen rates, and Rate Alerts notify you of exchange rate movements.
For businesses, the app is listed as a way to pay invoices and bills at a better exchange rate, and to connect to platforms including Amazon, Stripe and Xero.
