WPS Scanner

What WPS Scanner is for

WPS Scanner is a document scanner that uses the phone's camera to capture paper and save it digitally. The listing names receipts, notes, invoices, forms and contracts as the main things to scan.

It also runs OCR text recognition and image translation on those captures. People who need to file paperwork, pull text out of printed material, or convert scanned tables into spreadsheets are the audience the listing describes.

Scanning paper into PDF files

Scans are captured with the camera. Auto edge detection finds the borders of the page and crops the image to match, so a receipt or form does not need manual trimming.

Finished scans export as PDF files, which can then be shared with other people.

Converting scans to Word and Excel

Scanned documents can be converted into Word files, so the text can be edited rather than left as a picture. Scans can keep being edited and processed after conversion instead of being saved as images only.

Table recognition turns scanned tables, receipts or reports into Excel files. This is the route for getting figures out of paper and into a spreadsheet.

Pulling text out of images with OCR

The OCR feature recognises text in images, scanned documents and photographed paper notes. The recognised text can be copied and then pasted or shared into email, messaging or study material.

The listing names receipts, manuals, forms and printed notes as the sort of material it handles.

Translating text in photos

Text in photos, documents and menus can be translated directly from the image. The listing does not describe which languages are covered or how the translated text is shown.
