What the app is for and who it suits
Accounting Bookkeeping is a bookkeeping app for small businesses that need to keep their transactions in order. The listing says it is aimed at owners who have little or no background in accounting principles. It works for businesses that sell services, physical products, or both.
The core job is recording money moving in and out: sales, purchases, expenses, payments and taxes. Invoicing and tracking outstanding balances sit alongside that, and inventory is an add-on you can switch on for products you physically stock.
Recording sales, purchases and expenses
Each sale, purchase, expense, payment and tax entry is logged in the app, giving a running record of the business's transactions. The listing describes this as the main function of the app.
The app is free to try for 30 days. After that, the listing says a subscription is needed for unlimited transactions.
Invoicing and tracking receivables and payables
You can create and send invoices to customers from within the app. Amounts customers owe you (receivables) and amounts you owe suppliers (payables) are both tracked, so you can see the balance on each side.
These records feed the same transaction history as sales and purchases, so invoices and payments are not kept in a separate place.
Input tax credits for VAT and GST
The app records the input tax credits you pay on purchases under VAT, GST and similar systems. It then offsets those credits against the tax you owe on your sales.
The listing presents this as a way to see the tax position between buying and selling without doing the offset by hand.
Inventory tracking and profit and loss
Inventory tracking is switched on per product. Stock levels fall automatically when a sale is recorded and rise when a purchase is recorded.
When a sale is made, the profit and loss module records the cost of goods sold and works out profit from that figure. The listing says this is how profit is calculated for product sales.
