What the Atlantic Money app is for
Atlantic Money is a cross-border money transfer app. Its main use is paying a person or business in another country from a UK account. The developer presents it as a way to make international transfers simpler and more predictable in cost.
The app is authorised as a payment institution by the FCA, which is the regulatory status the developer states for the service.
Transfer fees and exchange rates
Each transfer carries a flat £3 fee, and the app can send up to £1 million in a single transfer. The developer says the exchange rate is the live market rate, with no markup added on top.
To get that rate, the developer says it has direct connections to interbank exchanges rather than using a fixed rate set by the app. It also states that customers can save up to 99% compared with other money transfer companies. That figure is the developer's own comparison, not an independent measurement.
Currencies and paying out to bank accounts
The app converts between nine currencies, with US dollars and euros given as examples. Money is paid directly into the recipient's bank account, so the person receiving it does not need a separate app or wallet.
The developer's list of supported currencies is the reference point for which pairs are available.
Choosing standard or instant delivery
Standard delivery is listed as taking a few days. For urgent payments, the developer also offers instant delivery.
The listing does not say which currency pairs or amounts qualify for instant delivery, so that detail sits with the app itself.
How customer funds are protected
The developer says customer money is kept in safeguarding accounts held with licensed institutions. This is separate from the company's own money, which is the purpose of safeguarding.
The app's regulatory authorisation from the FCA is the basis the developer gives for this arrangement.
