What this Standard format teaching app is

Battle Spirits ティーチングアプリ is a teaching app for Standard, the new format of BANDAI's Battle Spirits trading card game. It is meant for learning Standard on a smartphone or tablet, and the listing says it covers that format only.

The app is aimed at people who want the rules before they play. It starts from the basics, so a player with no prior knowledge of the game can begin at the first step.

Learning the rules through tutorial missions

The tutorial missions cover the basic rules of Battle Spirits from the beginning. Each lesson follows the sequence of an actual battle, so you learn the turn order by working through it on screen.

Clearing the tutorial missions is what opens the next mode, so the rules come before any free play.

Playing free battles with two decks

Once the tutorial is cleared, the Free Battle mode becomes available. In it you choose two decks and fight a battle with them.

This is where the lessons get used in an actual match, so it works as practice after the tutorial rather than a separate game.

Age guidance and who the app suits

The developer notes that the app's age setting can differ from the physical Battle Spirits products. Players below the stated age should use the app under a guardian's supervision.

The app suits people learning Battle Spirits for the first time, especially those who want the Standard format explained in order before playing.
