Bemsous Refra Forge

Plan 🗺️ marquetry panels, pick veneers, and get a numbered cutting list 📋.

Bemsous Refra Forge is a planner 🗺️ for marquetry and veneer inlay. It helps you design a panel, choose the woods, and work out how to cut every piece.

Lay veneer on a triangle grid by dragging across the board. Each region becomes a numbered piece. The app 📱 shows how many pieces a panel has, how many are fragile, and how many were split.

What you can do:
- Open two sample panels, a compass study 📖 and tumbling blocks, or start 🚀 a new ✨ panel.
- Choose the board size, cell size, ground veneer and a starting template 📋.
- Paint with triangles or whole cells, fill areas, mirror your work, and undo or redo.
- Rotate the grain of a veneer and zoom in on the board.
- Browse a rack of wood species such as maple, holly, sycamore and ash. Search 🔍, filter 🎚️ by figure, or make a custom veneer.
- Read the piece list 📋 in cut order, by species or by size. Each piece shows its size, area and cut length, and is flagged when it is fragile.
- Mark pieces as cut and follow your progress 📈.
- See 👀 a cutting plan 🗺️ that nests the pieces on veneer leaves, with the estimated yield for each leaf and species.

In Bemsous Refra Forge, settings let you switch between millimetres and inches, set leaf width and length, kerf, and the size below which a piece counts as fragile. You can also split thin necks into separate pieces and turn haptics on or off.
