What the Carteira de Trabalho Digital is for

Carteira de Trabalho Digital is the phone version of the Carteira de Trabalho e Previdência Social, the work card that Brazilian employers record jobs on. It gives you access to your personal data and to the employment contracts registered on that card. The listing describes it as the official app of the Digital Work Card from the Ministry of Economy, published by Serviços e Informações do Brasil.

The app suits anyone in Brazil who holds a work card and wants to check their working history, claim benefits or look for work from one place. Its features fall into four groups: your record, benefits, job search and payroll loans.

Checking your work record and contracts

The app shows your personal data as held in the work card. It also lists the employment contracts registered there, so you can see the jobs recorded under your name in one place.

This is the part of the app for checking that past employers have recorded your work correctly.

Requesting unemployment insurance and benefits

You can request Seguro-Desemprego, the unemployment insurance, from inside the app. The same area lets you consult Abono Salarial and other labour benefits.

Benefit requests and consultations sit alongside the work record, so the contracts that qualify you for a benefit are in the same app.

Searching and applying for jobs

Any citizen can search for vacancies that fit their profile and apply to them. The app also tracks each application through the selection process, so you can see where a vacancy stands after you apply.

Because job search uses the same profile the app holds for you, applying does not need a separate CV.

Simulating and requesting payroll loans

The app lets you run simulations and request loan proposals. It also follows a consignado loan taken through Crédito do Trabalhador after you have contracted it.

Simulations show the loan options before you commit, and the same app tracks the loan afterwards.
