What the Chef Mobile 2.0 waiter app covers
Picture a waiter with a full floor, several tables waiting to order and a drink tray going cold. Chef Mobile 2.0 is a waiter app that runs on a mobile device and handles the order side of service. The developer, STi3 Soluções em Ti, describes it as a way to register, manage and control orders from the phone.
The listing puts most of its weight on three things: managing tables, building orders, and sending those orders to the developer's back-office system. Its own short summary says a waiter takes orders and closes bills, and the fuller description adds table control and order editing on top of that.
Opening, closing and moving tables
Table control is the first thing the listing describes. You can open a table, close it, reopen it and transfer it, all with a few taps on the screen.
The table view shows the status of each table. The developer says this lets you organise service according to how busy the room is.
Transfer moves a table to another one. The listing gives no further detail on how it handles the order when that happens.
Building and changing an order
Adding items to an order takes a few taps. The listing also covers the details that go with each item: customer preferences and special notes, such as requests the kitchen needs to see.
Orders can be changed after they are placed. If an item was added by mistake, you can remove it. The developer presents this editing as the way to keep full control over each order.
Together, the item details and the edit options are how a waiter records exactly what a table asked for, and corrects it if the record is wrong.
How orders reach the kitchen
Orders are sent from the phone to the developer's back-office system. The listing says this happens instantly, and that every detail travels through that connection, so waiters and kitchen staff work from the same order.
Because orders leave the phone for that back-office system, the app depends on it. Orders have to be routed through it for the kitchen to receive them.
The developer states that it offers ongoing support and asks users to get in touch with questions or suggestions.
Who the app suits
The app is aimed at waiters and restaurant teams who take table orders and pass them to the kitchen. Its tools follow that workflow from opening a table to closing the bill.
Anyone whose service runs on the developer's back-office system can use the waiter side described here.
