Cyclers: Bike Navigation & Map

What Cyclers is for

Cyclers is a bike route planner and navigation app for people who ride regularly or want to explore an area on two wheels. It covers planning, following and logging rides in one place. The developer lists road, e-bike, mountain, city and hybrid bikes as the riding styles it plans for.

The app builds routes from the kind of bike you ride and the preferences you set, rather than offering one generic path between two points. Its maps are cycling maps, so they are designed around the routes a rider would use.

Planning routes around your bike and preferences

Before you ride, you tell the planner what kind of bike you have and what you want to avoid. The developer says the options include hills, traffic, main roads and poor road surfaces, so a route can be built to skip a steep climb or a busy road. The developer also says the planner is meant to find quiet and safe streets, though the listing does not describe how it judges safety.

The planner handles two common trip types. You can ask for an A to B route to a specific destination, or a circular route that loops through an area for exploring. The listing presents the circular option as a way to discover new roads near where you are.

Following a route with voice guidance

Once a route is set, the app gives turn-by-turn voice navigation. The developer says the directions are designed for cyclists, so you can keep your attention on the road and hear each turn as it comes up.

The voice guidance works with the planned route and the cycling maps shown on screen, so the spoken cues and the map match the path you picked.

Recording rides and keeping a log

The app can record each ride. Recorded rides are kept in a log, so you can look back over the trips you have made and pick out the ones you liked. The listing presents the log as a personal record of your time on the bike.
