A fishing simulation game that works offline

Fishing Hook is a fishing simulation game from mobirix, rated Everyone on Google Play. Its core loop is hooking fish, working them in with a few on-screen controls, and deciding which challenge fish to release.

The game does not require a network connection and is listed as using little data, so it can be played without a connection. The developer says it aims to capture the feel of real fishing.

Reeling in fish with the pull button and striking pin

The pull button damages the fish and brings it toward you. Pressing the striking pin together with the tension gauge reduces the distance between you and the fish.

The two controls are meant to be used together, so the pull button handles the fight while the striking pin and gauge handle the approach.

Challenge fish and how releases affect later catches

Challenge fish are the game's larger targets. The developer says that releasing a challenge fish makes stronger and more expensive challenge fish available on the next catch.

Because the reward for a release carries into later attempts, progress depends on which challenge fish you let go.
