What KMV does at Ipiranga fuel stations

KMV: Ganhe Cashback em Postos is the loyalty app for Ipiranga fuel stations. It records what you spend on fuel and turns that spending into points you can later exchange for cashback, benefits or discounts.

The developer describes it as aimed at people who fill up at Ipiranga regularly, since the points and cashback only accrue at Ipiranga stations and partner businesses connected to the app. The listing is written in Portuguese.

How points are earned on each fill-up

The listing gives two earning rates. At your favourite Ipiranga station you earn 2 points for every real spent. At any other fill-up you earn 1 point per real.

Points build up over time and can be used on a later visit. The listing also states that points can be accumulated from partner businesses inside the app, so fuel is not the only source.

Paying at the pump with the app or your CPF

You can pay for fuel through the KMV app, or tell the attendant or pump your CPF (the Brazilian individual taxpayer number) so the purchase is credited to your account. Either route is how the points get attached to you.

The listing does not describe the pump-side steps in detail, so the exact flow at each station is not covered here.

Redeeming points and the Tuesday cashback offer

Accumulated points can be exchanged for cashback, other benefits or a discount applied to your next fuel purchase at the station. The listing presents these as the three ways to spend points.

The listing's summary describes a weekly Tuesday offer: fill up with IPIMAX, exchange 1000 points and earn 8% cashback. Its main text says Tuesday is the day for cashback on IPIMAX purchases, paid in Ipimax.
