GLS Parcels is the GLS app for people who receive GLS deliveries and people who post them. It has two main jobs: following parcels that are on their way to you or leaving you, and buying shipping labels so you can send a parcel without going to a counter.
The two sides share one account, so the parcels you track and the labels you buy sit in the same place. Sign-up and log-in are part of the app.
You add a parcel by entering its tracking number or Track ID along with the recipient's postal code. Parcels then appear in one overview split into incoming, outgoing and archived, and you can delete any you no longer need.
Each parcel shows its delivery date and live tracking. For incoming parcels you can choose a different delivery option, such as leaving it at a specific location or redirecting it to a shop or parcel station. If you add email addresses to your account, parcels sent to those addresses are tracked in the app automatically.
To create a label you enter the parcel's size, destination country, and sender and recipient details. Addresses can be saved in an address book so repeat recipients do not need retyping. Payment is by PayPal or Visa or Mastercard credit card, and order confirmations and receipts are sent by email.
A label can be printed at home or taken to a ParcelShop, where you show it as a mobile label or QR code. The app lists every label as active, inactive or archived, and for each one it shows the nearest ParcelShop.
Archived parcels and labels stay in the app after they are finished, so earlier sends and deliveries can still be looked up. Labels already bought can be reopened from the list, whether they are still active or have been archived.
Because receipts and confirmations come by email and addresses are kept in the address book, the app holds the details of each send in one place.
