Google Gemini on Wear OS – your helpful AI assistant on your wrist
By Hafiz Rahman
Editor, tools and utilities
Google Gemini on Wear OS is Google's AI assistant for smartwatches running Wear OS. You speak to it, and it carries out tasks across your apps, answers questions and recalls details you have given it. It suits people who want to get things done from their wrist while moving around.
The developer advises checking its responses for accuracy, and notes that results are for illustrative purposes and may vary.
The build we hold is Google Gemini on Wear OS 1.35.50.945341855.release (APKS split bundle) for Android 11 and up.

You can ask Gemini to send a message to a named contact, such as telling someone you are running late. Its lookups reach into other apps, so a question like finding the restaurant someone emailed you about can be answered from a single spoken request. One request can therefore span more than one app.
Gemini can build a music playlist from a description, such as one suited to a 10-minute-mile run. It can also store a fact you give it, like the level and space where you parked, and bring it back when you ask.
Opting in to Gemini makes it the primary assistant on the watch in place of Google Assistant. Some Google Assistant voice features are not yet available through Gemini. You can switch back to Google Assistant in Settings.
