Attempt to survive in a prison where every sentence is a death sentence!
By Mei-Lin Chua
Contributing editor, apps and storefronts
Hard Time is a survival game set in a prison, built around an inmate you create yourself. The developer describes every sentence as a death sentence, so the goal is simply to last. It suits players who like survival simulations with a grim, rule-heavy setting.
The game takes place in a jail of 12 separate areas, and the listing says up to 100 other inmates share it. Each area is filled with furniture and props you can interact with.
The build we hold is Hard Time 1.530.64 (APK) for Android 7.0 and up.

Your health and mental state fall away each day. Sleep restores both, but you will not always be allowed to sleep, so food and drink are there to cover the gaps. Reading and watching TV are also listed as ways to improve your mental state.
Sleep is also the main way to pass time, so the day cycle in the jail revolves around keeping your character fed, rested and calm enough to get through it.
If your mental state drops far enough, your character breaks down. For a short time you lose control of them, and the developer notes this almost always leads to trouble.
The game is not limited to the cells. Life outside the jail is populated by real civilians, and wardens enforce dozens of different laws to stop you making a break for it.
