Heart Rate Monitor is a health tracking app for Android that measures pulse with the phone's camera and keeps a record of several health numbers in one place. The listing describes it as a way to follow heart rate over time, and to log blood pressure and blood sugar alongside it.
Pulse measurement is the starting point. The rest of the app works on the readings you enter or take, so it suits someone who already tracks these numbers and wants them in one app rather than several.
The app uses photoplethysmography (PPG). You place a fingertip over the camera, and the app reads small changes in colour at the fingertip through the phone's light-based sensors. From those changes it estimates your heart rate.
The listing gives the measurement as an estimate, not a clinical reading. Each result is a single pulse figure, which you can keep with your other entries.
Beyond the camera reading, you can enter blood pressure and blood sugar values by hand. The listing says these entries sit in the same log as your heart rate and pulse history, so the numbers can be read together.
Keeping every reading in one log means a day's blood pressure, blood sugar and pulse can be compared without switching apps.
The app draws visuals from the values you record for blood pressure, blood sugar, heart rate and pulse. The listing also mentions insights drawn from the readings, though it does not say what those insights contain.
Charts are the main way to see change over days or weeks. They show trends in the numbers you have entered, not a diagnosis.
The stress feature estimates stress levels from your pulse rate and heart rate variability (HRV). The listing presents it as a daily view of emotional well-being, and says it covers stress, anxiety and mood.
Because it runs on the same camera pulse measurement, a stress reading needs a fingertip measurement taken with the phone, the same as a heart rate reading.
The build we hold is Heart Rate Monitor - Pulse App 1.7.4 (APKS split bundle) for Android 8.0 and up.
