Checking a phone for spyware without the jargon

Incognito: Phone Privacy is a checker for Android phones. The developer aims it at people who want to look over their phone without learning security terms. It works from a single scan that you start from the app, and it reports on apps that may be spying on you or behaving in intrusive ways.

The listing presents it as a way to review risks rather than a full security suite. Its results are meant to point you toward apps and permissions that need a closer look, and it describes the guidance it gives as plain language written for non-experts.

Scanning installed apps for spyware and stalkerware

The scan goes through the apps installed on the phone and looks for ones that show suspicious behavior. The listing names stalkerware specifically, meaning apps that secretly monitor someone else's device, and says the app can spot apps that may need closer review.

A scan is described as quick, so you can run one whenever you suspect something is off. The app lists what it found so you can decide what to do about each entry.

Seeing which apps can reach your camera, mic and files

Beyond suspicious behavior, the app shows which installed apps have access to the camera, microphone, location and files on the phone. That lets you check whether an app has access it does not appear to need.

This is a review tool. It shows what each app is able to reach, and you decide whether that access should stay.

Privacy tips for safer everyday phone use

Alongside scans, the app includes a section of privacy tips covering simple habits for using a phone more safely. These are general advice, not tied to a specific scan result.

Together the scan, the access review and the tips make up the app's whole feature set as the listing describes it.
