What Jurassic World Play is and who it suits

Jurassic World Play is a Mattel app built around the Jurassic World dinosaurs. Its main part is a chase game, Ride 'N Rampage: Colossal Chase, with a short list of companion features, and the listing ties the whole app to Mattel's Jurassic World dinosaur toys. It is rated USK: All ages, so it is pitched at young children and their families.

The listing's own framing is that the game works across land, sea and air. The chase game is the core of the app, and the video section sits alongside it.

Vehicle, boat and helicopter chases

In the chase game you drive a rugged off-road vehicle, pilot an attack boat or fly a helicopter. Each one is used to go after rampaging dinosaurs. The listing also warns that the dinosaurs can turn on you, so a chase can go the other way.

The three vehicles cover land, water and sky, so the same hunt can take place in different settings.

Capturing DNA samples on a mission

When you spot the dinosaur a mission is about, you launch a dart at it to take a DNA sample. The listing describes the catch as the first step, followed by racing on to finish the mission.

The dart and the race are the two parts of each mission, so the game is built as a sequence of catch-then-finish steps.

AR features tied to Jurassic World toys

The app's summary describes AR features, games and other content for Mattel's Jurassic World dinosaur toys. The listing does not say which toys work with which features, so the connection to physical figures is the developer's claim only.

Because the app is positioned as a companion to the toys, owners of those figures are the audience the listing names.

Watching dinosaur videos inside the app

The app has a video feed where Mattel posts new clips. The listing names dinosaur battles, music videos and scene re-creations as the kinds of content to expect, and says new videos are added over time.

The videos are inside the app, so watching them does not require leaving it.
