What Keyboard Maker is for

Keyboard Maker is an Android keyboard app built around appearance. Its main job is to replace the default keys with a theme of your choice, and it also handles ordinary typing with prediction, correction and multilingual input.

The listing points most at people who spend a lot of time messaging and want their keyboard to match their taste. It includes a custom theme mode and a photo background option, so the keyboard can be built from scratch or from a picture the user already has.

Choosing and building a keyboard theme

The theme library holds more than 500 free themes, grouped into simple, colorful, LED, anime, love and cute styles. Switching between them is done from the keyboard settings and takes effect straight away, so a theme can be changed to suit the mood of the day.

For a theme of your own, the custom mode lets you design a keyboard, and the photo option sets an image from your gallery as the background. The listing also mentions wallpapers, backgrounds, fonts, effects and key sounds as parts of the look you can change.

Typing help: prediction, gestures and voice

Word prediction starts suggesting words once you have typed two or three letters, and autocorrect fixes typos as you go. Gesture typing lets you trace a word across the keys instead of tapping each letter, and voice input turns speech into text.

A clipboard holds several copied items so you can paste them again without copying each one anew. The keyboard also has a notes panel where you can add, edit, delete and send short notes from inside the keyboard. Vibration on keypress, auto capitalization and suggestions can be turned on or off.

Emojis, GIFs and stickers for messaging

The emoji section covers emojis and emoticons, and the listing describes thousands of them. A GIF search takes a word and returns matching trending GIFs to send to friends. Stickers appear alongside, so a message can be sent without leaving the keyboard.

Cute and decorative fonts can be used in messages, which sets the text apart from the default typeface.

Layout and language settings

Several keyboard layouts are offered, and the listing says they suit different needs and devices. The keyboard can be resized, and a number row can be added to the top of the layout for quick access to digits.

Typing support covers more than 150 languages, including Hindi, English and Russian, and the listing presents multilingual input as one of the keyboard's core features.
