Kick the Buddy: Second Kick, a physics doll toy game

By Priya Raghavan

Senior reviews editor

Tap, drag and throw a doll around the screen
Over fifty props, tools and gadgets to unlock with coins
Outfits for dressing Buddy, unlocked through play
Physics-based reactions with sound effects and voice lines
Achievements collected as you try out each interaction
Remastered graphics for the classic doll game

What the game is and who it is for

This is a remaster of a classic game built around one doll, Buddy, who is meant to be a stress-relief toy. The listing presents it as something to play for a few minutes to unwind, with no set objective beyond seeing what Buddy does when you handle him.

The developer's own description frames it around playful, low-pressure use rather than competition or a story. It suits anyone who wants short, hands-on, physics-driven play.

Throwing, stretching and testing Buddy

You control Buddy with taps, drags and throws directly on the screen. The listing names stretching his limbs, tossing him against walls and testing how much he can take as the first things to try.

The listing says the physics has been reworked so that Buddy's reactions look more realistic. The developer presents this as what makes each interaction feel satisfying.

Earning coins to unlock props and gadgets

Interacting with Buddy earns coins, and coins unlock items. The listing describes over fifty of them, ranging from classic tools to creative gadgets, plus effects and props that change how he reacts.

Achievements sit alongside this. The listing says they are earned by exploring the different ways to interact with Buddy, so they track what you have already tried.

Dressing Buddy and hearing his reactions

Buddy has a wardrobe of costumes and outfits, which the listing describes as a newly updated selection. Coins and play progress are what unlock them.

His reactions come with funny sound effects and voice lines, added in this version. The graphics are described as updated and more colorful than the original.
