What Loop Hero is and how a run works

Loop Hero is a roguelike RPG set in a world the Lich has trapped in a timeless loop. Each run is an expedition around that loop, and the hero keeps circling it until the run ends.

The developer says you can try the game for free, and that the full game is unlocked separately to cover the whole adventure.

Card-based placement along the loop

Your main tool is a deck of mystical cards. You place enemy, building and terrain cards onto the loop, which shapes what the hero meets on each pass.

The deck expands as you go, so the set of cards you can place grows over time. Because placement is the only control described, the card layout is where most of the strategy sits.

Loot, hero classes and the survivors' camp

Loot is recovered during expeditions and equipped by class, so each hero type uses its own gear for its battles. The developer also describes unlocking new classes as part of progression.
