Marbel Gim Belajar Budaya

A children's guide to Indonesian regional culture

Marbel Gim Belajar Budaya is a children's learning app from Educa Studio about the regional cultures of Indonesia. It covers the traditional things that differ from one region to another: houses, clothing, dances, instruments, weapons and food.

The listing presents it as a way to introduce these customs to children at an early age, so the subject matter stays at the level of cultural basics. The content rating given on the listing is Everyone.

Learning the six topics

The learning section has six topics: traditional houses (rumah adat), traditional clothing (pakaian adat), regional dances (tarian daerah), regional musical instruments (alat musik daerah), traditional weapons (senjata tradisional daerah) and traditional food (makanan tradisional).

A parent or teacher could use these topics to introduce one category at a time, or to cover the full set across several sessions. Each topic is named by its Indonesian term, so the child meets the vocabulary as well as the subject.

Quick guessing games for each topic

Alongside the learning section, the app has six guessing games called Tebak Cepat, one for each topic: houses, clothing, dances, musical instruments, weapons and food. The games sit apart from the lessons, so a child can move from studying a topic to testing it.

Because each game matches one of the learning topics, the games and lessons share the same subject list.

Who the app is built for

The app suits parents and teachers who want young children to become familiar with Indonesian regional customs. Its topics are fixed and narrow, so it works best as a focused companion to other learning rather than a general reference.
