What the Android TV app is for
MAWAQIT for TV is the television version of the MAWAQIT prayer schedule service. It is built for putting a mosque's prayer timetable on a TV in a home, a family room or a shared space, so people can read the times without picking up a phone.
The developer describes it as a Lifestyle app rated for ages 3 and up. Its one listed feature is the prayer timetable, which is tied to the mosque you select.
Showing daily prayer times from a chosen mosque
The app displays the times for Fajr, Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha. The developer says these come from the mosque you pick, not from a generic calculation for your location.
The listing mentions customizable settings for the display, and says the interface is easy to use. Those are the developer's own descriptions and have not been checked here.
How mosques publish schedules and news
The times on the TV come from a wider system. According to the developer, mosque managers have online tools, available at any hour, to set the prayer schedules and post news for their mosque.
The developer says every mosque is reviewed before it is added to the system, and that a mosque which does not follow the rules is suspended. This is how the developer says it keeps the service reliable.
Finding a mosque from the companion app
The developer offers a separate mobile app for worshippers. It shows the schedules and news of a favourite mosque, and it can search for mosques near the user's location.
The listing does not say how the TV app and the mobile app connect beyond both using the same mosque schedules.
