Micro Learning: Upscroll

What Upscroll is and who it suits

Upscroll is a feed app. It shows short facts, mini-articles and short videos one after another, in the same way a social feed does, but the material is meant to teach you something. The listing names hundreds of topics, including science, history, life hacks and pop culture.

It suits people who already spend time on short-form feeds and would like some of that time to bring up something new.

Reading facts, mini-articles and watching short videos

Each item is brief. Facts are single pieces of information, mini-articles are short reads, and the short videos sit in the same feed as both. Because the topics are so varied, one session can move between very different subjects without a change of app or mode.

Setting a personal daily feed by interest

You set your interests and goals, and the app selects stories and facts to match them. The feed is therefore built around your choices rather than a single fixed list. The listing does not describe any other way of steering what appears.

Tracking screen time reclaimed and facts learned

A progress view shows how much time you have reclaimed from scrolling and how many new facts you have learned. These two counts are the progress measures the listing describes, and they give you a running record of both.
