Monster Train

A roguelite deck builder fought across three fields

Monster Train is a roguelite deck builder. You defend the final burning pyre from forces from Heaven, and the fight takes place across three vertical playing fields. It suits players who like card strategy games where each run is different.

The listing says no two playthroughs are the same, so each run presents a new challenge.

Building a deck from 250-plus unlockable cards

The game has more than 250 cards to unlock. Five Monster Clans are included, and each one plays differently. Each clan has ten levels to unlock, and each level brings new cards into your deck.

Upgrading Champions and cards along your route

Your Champion can be upgraded several times. On the route through the game you reach locations that each offer a different benefit: upgrading your Champion, recruiting powerful units, upgrading cards, gaining passive bonuses, or duplicating any card in your deck.

The listing advises choosing your route carefully, since the locations do not all give the same reward.

Replaying with the Wild Mutations and Friends and Foes updates

Two released updates are included: Wild Mutations and Friends and Foes. Together with the five clans and the card unlocks, they are the listing's main reasons the game stays varied from one run to the next.
