What Music player is for and who it suits
Music player is an offline player for music stored on the phone itself. It is aimed at people who already have their songs as files, rather than streaming them. The developer names mp3, FLAC and OGG among the formats it plays.
The listing presents it as a general-purpose player for a personal library, with extra tools for editing tags, trimming audio and making ringtones.
Finding songs and organising playlists
On first use the app scans the device for audio files, and the listing says this includes files in hidden folders. Songs can then be viewed by title, artist, album, genre, playlist or directory. Search matches song titles, album names, artist names and playlist names.
Playlists can be created, renamed and deleted. Albums, artists, genres and whole directories can be added to a playlist in one step. The app keeps a list of recent playlists for quick access.
Playback queue, lock screen and headphone controls
Playback includes a queue, next and previous track, rewind and fast forward. A mini player appears on the lock screen and in the status bar, showing the album artwork, title and artist, with play, pause, skip and stop buttons.
The listing says the headphone buttons can play, pause and skip tracks, and that the app works with Bluetooth headphones. A home screen widget is also included.
Equalizer, themes and album artwork
A built-in equalizer lets you change the tonal balance of playback. Themes change the skin of the player. The app can show song artwork, photos of artists and album covers where they are available.
Songs can also be shared from the app, according to the listing.
Editing tags, trimming songs and making ringtones
The tag editor changes a song's title, album name and artist name. The listing also describes removing sections from a music or audio file, which lets you cut a clip out of a longer track.
A ringtone maker turns a song into a ringtone and sets it as the phone's ringtone, using the same library the rest of the app uses.
