What MyDyson controls and who it suits

MyDyson is a companion app for Dyson home products. It is aimed at owners of Dyson floor care machines and air treatment devices who want to manage them from their phone. The developer names the 360 Vis Nav robot vacuum, the V15, V8, V12 and Gen5detect cordless vacuums, and the Wash G1 wet cleaner as supported floor care machines.

The app covers two groups of products: floor cleaning, and air treatment with a purifier, humidifier or fan.

Scheduling and tracking robot vacuum cleans

For the robot vacuum, the app lets you set cleaning schedules and follow when cleans have run. You can choose a cleaning mode for each room, so a hard floor and a rug can be handled differently.

You can also mark areas the robot should avoid. The app shows how much dust the robot has picked up, and the developer presents this as evidence that a deep clean took place.

Setup and maintenance guides for cordless vacuums and wet cleaners

The app includes step-by-step guides for setup, troubleshooting and maintenance on the cordless vacuum and the wet floor cleaner. These guides are the way to look up upkeep steps without going to the printed manual.

The guides are built into the app, so they are available alongside the device controls.

Controlling air purifiers, humidifiers and fans

Dyson air purifiers, humidifiers and fans can be managed from the same app as the floor care machines. The developer describes this as a way to take control of the air quality in a room.

The listing gives no further detail on the air treatment controls, so the features are best understood as a general management panel for these devices.
