What the NRZ E-Paper app covers
If you want the regional paper on a phone or tablet and live in the Lower Rhine, the Ruhr area or Düsseldorf, this is the digital edition of the Neue Rhein Zeitung and the Neue Ruhr Zeitung, published by FUNKE MEDIENGRUPPE. The listing presents it as a way to read the paper without the print copy.
The coverage is German-language and local. The listing names towns from Emmerich to Düsseldorf, including Kleve, Wesel, Dinslaken, Moers, Oberhausen, Duisburg, Mülheim and Essen, so the paper is organised around the places its readers live in.
Getting the edition the evening before
The digital paper appears in the app on the evening before its print date, before 20:00 according to the listing. That gives readers the full edition ahead of the morning, with sports results updated in the app.
A news section carries selected articles from NRZ.de as they are published. This sits alongside the paper itself, so the app is not only the edition read once a day. The listing also describes in-depth articles in the regular edition.
Local news, leisure tips and football coverage
Local reporting covers each town in the region. The listing adds leisure tips to this, such as recommended cycling tours, so the local pages are not only about council and crime stories.
Sport gets its own emphasis. The listing names exclusive reporting on MSV Duisburg, Fortuna Düsseldorf, Borussia Mönchengladbach, RWO, RWE, SO4 and BVB. Readers who follow those clubs will find them covered in the paper rather than only in national sport pages.
Reading and listening on the move
The text size of the digital edition can be made larger or smaller. The listing calls this a personalised reading experience, which in practice means the type adjusts to the reader rather than staying fixed.
Articles can be read aloud. The listing points to this for travel or for listening rather than reading. Downloaded editions stay available offline, which the listing ties to reading on trains, in cafés or while travelling.
Puzzles, flyers, podcasts and magazines
The digital edition includes interactive puzzles and the flyers that come with the paper. The listing presents the paper as a digital daily that keeps these extras in one place.
Beyond the daily paper, the app carries podcasts and editorial recommendations. The listing describes digital magazines and special-topic editions as part of this, so the app also serves readers who want longer pieces than the daily news.
Sharing a subscription with the family
The listing refers to a subscription that can be used on up to five devices. The app is therefore built to let a household read the same paper on several phones or tablets, not only one.
The listing frames this as sharing the reading experience with family members. Access depends on the subscription the listing describes, so the family arrangement only applies to readers who hold one.
