Perfect Tuner

What the Perfect Tuner app is for

Perfect Tuner is an instrument tuner and metronome for Android, published by Beat Blend Labs. The developer lists guitar, violin, piano, ukulele and banjo among the instruments it covers, and says it suits both beginners and experienced players.

It combines tuning and timing in one app, so a player can tune up and then practise with the metronome without switching tools. The developer presents it as a practice companion for home, lessons and performances.

Tuning modes and the 250 tunings

The listing gives 250 tunings for 14 instruments. These cover alternate and standard tunings, so a player with a non-standard setup has a preset to pick from.

Tuning can be set to auto or manual. Auto mode is the default way to tune with less input from the player, while manual mode lets you choose the note yourself. The developer describes the tuner as chromatic, which means it reads every note across the scale rather than only a fixed set.

Metronome and guitar or ukulele chords

The metronome offers free tempo control, so the beat can be set to whatever speed a piece or exercise needs. It is intended for practice drills and rehearsals.

For guitar and ukulele, the app includes chords with built-in sounds, so a chord can be heard as well as seen. The listing does not say how many chords are included.

Using the app offline

The developer lists an offline mode meant for rehearsals, lessons and gigs. It is aimed at places where a connection is unreliable or unavailable, such as a practice room, a classroom or a venue.
