Personal Safety is Google's app for getting ready for an emergency and getting help quickly once one starts. Its main idea is to connect you to emergency services, the people you choose and useful information with as few steps as possible.
Most of its features run from the phone's power button, a check-in timer or a crash sensor, so you can use them without opening a screen first.
The build we hold is Personal Safety 2026.07.23.955891548.2-release (APKS split bundle) for Android 12L and up.

Pressing the power button quickly five times or more starts an emergency SOS. From there the phone can call emergency services or a number you pick, and send your location and key details to your emergency contacts.
The SOS can also record a video, back it up and share it, so people you trust get footage as well as your position.
Emergency Sharing sends your real-time location and key details to the contacts you set up. The listing says it also works with Google Assistant, so you can start it by voice.
Safety Check lets you set a timer that asks your phone to confirm you are safe. If the timer runs out and you do not respond, Emergency Sharing starts on its own, which suits solo walks, drives or any time someone expects to hear from you.
Car crash detection can call emergency services for you after a crash if the phone senses one. It is meant for cases where you may be unable to dial yourself.
Crisis alerts notify you about natural disasters and public emergencies near your location, so you hear about a nearby event without having to search for it.
