What the Phone Call Dialpad dialer is for

Phone Call Dialpad - Caller ID is a dialer app for Android, listed under Communication and published by DOSA Apps. It replaces the usual keypad and contact search with a T9 dialpad, and adds caller identification and call blocking on top of it.

The listing points most at people who get a lot of unsolicited calls from telemarketers, robocallers and scammers, and at anyone who wants a faster way to find and dial saved contacts. It is aimed at general users, with a listing rated for all ages.

Finding contacts with T9 search on the keypad

The T9 search works from the keypad. You type the digits or letters of a name, or part of a number, and the dialer narrows the contact list as you go. The developer describes this as a way to reach a contact in a few presses rather than scrolling.

New contacts can be added quickly from the same screen, so a number you have just dialed or received can be saved without leaving the dialer.

Caller ID and spam alerts for unknown numbers

Caller ID is meant to show who is calling when a number is not in your contacts. The listing says it identifies unknown numbers and flags likely spam, fraud and telemarketing calls before you pick up.

Spam alerts are described as real-time, so the warning appears while the call is coming in. The listing says built-in spam detection is what tells you whether a call is safe to answer.

Blocking spam, fraud and unwanted numbers

Call block has two parts. Automatic blocking stops spam and fraud calls without you having to act on each one. Manual blocking lets you silence specific numbers you do not want to hear from again.

The listing names telemarketers, spammers and fraudsters as the callers the block feature is built to stop. It does not say how the spam list is kept up to date or how many numbers it covers.
