What Picnic is and who it suits

Picnic is an online supermarket. You order groceries in the app and they are brought to your door, which the listing describes as free of charge.

The listing aims it at busy families with children. It combines grocery ordering with shopping lists, a weekly planner and recipes, so the shopping and the cooking are handled in the same place.

Ordering groceries online for home delivery

You build an order from the app and choose when it suits you to place it. The listing says there are no queues and no walking around a store.

Heavy shopping is delivered to the door rather than carried home. The listing presents this as the main reason to use it.

Planning the week with lists, planner and menu

A shopping list, a weekly planner and a weekly menu sit in the app together. You add products to the planner, and recipes can be found from the same screens.

The weekly planner and meal planner are meant to be used together to fill out the week's menu. The listing says this is intended to reduce the mental load of deciding what to cook.

Family recipes and quick meals

The listing offers hundreds of recipes for families with children, including quick pasta dishes, oven meals and other cooking ideas. Many are said to be ready in under 20 minutes.

The recipes are presented as healthy meals suited to family cooking. Picking a dish and adding its ingredients to the planner is how the recipes connect to the grocery order.
