What the game is and who it suits
Pixel Starships 2 combines starship management, space strategy and role-playing, with real-time battles on top. You design and build your own ship, staff it with a crew, and send it on missions, expeditions and fights against other players. The developer says it is aimed at midcore and hardcore players.
Most of the game revolves around the ship itself. How you equip it, who you put aboard and when you fight are the decisions that shape how a session goes.
Building a starship and automating it
You build a ship from the ground up by picking from a range of modules and components. You can change its layout and appearance, upgrade its systems and add new weapons, so the same hull can become a heavy battleship, a fast explorer or an all-rounder. The listing treats these as three broad directions you can take.
AI Programming lets you set your ship and crew to act on their own, so you do not have to direct every move yourself. The listing presents it as a feature built into the game rather than an add-on.
Training crew and gathering resources
Your crew members have their own skills and traits, and you can train them to improve their abilities and the ship's performance. The listing says particular crew members can change the outcome of a battle, so who you train matters.
Resources come from missions, battles and exploration. You spend them on upgrading the ship, training the crew and growing your fleet, so the three activities feed one another.
Real-time battles, missions and PvP rankings
Battles are real-time and take place against other players. You aim at specific ship systems to weaken an opponent's defenses, and winning brings resources and rankings. Player vs. player fights also feed a leaderboard, with rewards tied to how you perform.
Missions give you other work between fights. The listing gives rescuing stranded ships and defending against pirate attacks as examples.
Exploring the galaxy, alliances and updates
Expeditions send you into a large galaxy to find new planets, meet alien species and uncover hidden treasure. Each expedition is listed as bringing its own challenges.
You can join or form alliances to pool resources, take on missions together and support each other in battles, and alliance wars add a team layer to the competition. The developer says it adds new events, challenges and storylines through regular updates. The game uses pixel art, and the listing says its ships are now rendered in 3D.
