What PokéCardex is for

PokéCardex is a collection manager for the Pokémon Trading Card Game. The developer describes it as a database covering cards from the newest sets back to the oldest, including promotional releases. It is aimed at collectors who want a record of what they own and what it is worth.

The card database is the base for everything else in the app. Separate catalogues cover English-language sets and Japanese sets, which the developer lists at more than 400 series and 24,000 cards.

Tracking cards and their prices

Each card in your collection can be recorded by version, condition, quantity and language. That means a near-mint copy and a played copy of the same card can sit as separate entries, and a Japanese printing can be kept apart from an English one.

The developer says card prices come from the resale sites Cardmarket and TCGPlayer. Those figures show next to your cards, so you can see what a set or a binder is worth without leaving the app.

Adding cards with the camera scanner

The scanner uses the phone camera to read a Pokémon card. It tells you whether you already own that card, and it can add the card to your collection straight away. This is the quickest way to log a pile of cards after opening a pack or buying a lot.

Scanning ties into the same collection records, so a scanned card gets the same version, condition and language fields as one you added by hand.

Sealed products and custom binders

The sealed products section is a catalogue of TCG items such as booster packs and display boxes. For each product you can check its details and contents, and keep a record of the sealed or opened products you own.

Custom binders let you build your own card pages. You choose the binder format, mix cards from different regions, and use the binder to plan which cards to buy next. The developer also lists binder sharing with friends.
