Pokémon HOME

What Pokémon HOME is for

Pokémon HOME is an online service that holds Pokémon outside the games they came from. You can bring in any Pokémon that has appeared in a core Pokémon game, so a collection built over several titles can sit in one place.

It suits players who keep Pokémon across more than one game and want a single store for them, along with the trading and Pokédex features that sit on top of it.

Moving Pokémon between games and Switch

Pokémon from core games can be deposited into HOME. Certain Pokémon stored in HOME for Nintendo Switch can be sent back out to compatible video game titles.

Because the transfers are limited to certain Pokémon, a Pokémon that cannot be moved will stay in its original place. The listing does not name the full set of eligible Pokémon, so check which ones transfer before planning a move.

Trading and Mystery Gifts from a phone

From a smart device you can trade Pokémon with other players anywhere, at any time. The listing names two trading methods: the Wonder Box and the GTS.

Mystery Gifts are also received through the app on your smart device, so you do not need a separate game session to collect them.

Completing the National Pokédex and checking moves

Bringing Pokémon into HOME counts toward completing the National Pokédex. The app also shows the moves and Abilities each stored Pokémon has, so you can look up that information without opening a game.
