Post - Parcel Tracking App is the parcel tracker inside the Austrian Post app. It serves people receiving parcels in Austria and people sending them, and the developer lists the same tracking tools for both.

Beyond tracking, it covers choosing how a parcel is delivered, booking collection of return parcels, finding nearby post locations, and reading digital mail in an e-letterbox. The developer says the core features are parcel tracking, parcel forwarding, collection service, location finder and e-letterbox.

Tracking parcels you send or receive

You can find a parcel by typing its shipping number or scanning its barcode with the phone camera. All of your parcels appear in one overview with their current status.

Push notifications alert you when a status changes, and online tracking shows where an item is on its way. The same view works whether you are waiting for a delivery or waiting for a recipient to collect something you sent.

Choosing how and when a parcel arrives

While a parcel is still in transit, you can redirect it to a pick-up station, a service location, a preferred neighbour or a secure place you choose. You can also move the delivery to another date.

If delivery fails or you have redirected the parcel, the app sends a real-time notice about where to collect it. The pick-up slip is opened inside the app, so you do not need to collect the paper slip first.

Booking collection of return parcels at home

If you have return parcels waiting at home, you can book a collection through the app, and your regular Austrian Post delivery person picks them up. The developer states that up to 5 parcels can be collected per workday.

Booking happens in the app rather than at a counter, so the collection is set up from the same screen you use to follow your other parcels.

Finding post locations and reading the e-letterbox

The location finder shows Austrian post offices, post partners, the nearest pick-up station and letterboxes. You can search by your current position or by entering an address, then see opening hours, distance, or open navigation to a chosen location.

The e-letterbox stores bills, contracts and other documents in digital form. Registration is free according to the developer, and full access to services requires identifying your account with ID Austria and photo identification.
