Presentation Timer is a countdown clock for people giving a timed talk, pitch or speech alongside a PowerPoint, Keynote or other slide show. The developer describes it as a stand-in for a stopwatch, so the speaker does not have to keep glancing at a separate clock while presenting.
The design is based on an hourglass, with a plain countdown display rather than a stopwatch readout. It suits anyone who has a fixed slot to fill, such as conference speakers, pitch presenters and people giving speeches at events.
You enter the length of the talk in minutes and seconds, then press start. The app has no other setup step described in the listing.
When the countdown reaches zero, the display changes into a count-up timer in red and blinks, so a speaker who runs over can see how far past the limit they are.
The timer changes color as time runs down. Blue means there is plenty of time left, green means the speaker can wrap up whenever they like, orange means it is nearly time to conclude, and red means stop.
The developer says the large display is built to be read at a glance from a distance, which matters when the timer sits on a laptop or phone at the front of a room rather than in the speaker's hand.
In version 2.0, the countdown continues when the screen is off or the app is in the background. A speaker can switch to slides or another app without stopping the clock.
Ads are limited to a single ad view, shown only while the app is open. The listing says nothing further about ads.
